Leadership Opportunities in the context of the Earthquake recovery

Peter Townsend, CEO Canterbury Chamber of Commerce, has been a prominent figure
in Christchurch for many years and in the aftermath of the earthquakes. As well as his role
at the CECC, Peter holds several corporate directorships and is involved with a range of
community groups and initiatives in the region.
Come along on 21 August to hear his impressions of the critical issues facing the city as
we begin the serious rebuild phase. The announcement of the Blueprint for the Central
City and the gathering momentum in construction will continue to re-energise the people
of Christchurch, after a prolonged period of delay and frustration. The starting point for the
Blueprint was the Central City Plan prepared last year by the Christchurch City Council.
However, the Blueprint also provides certainty for the development of anchor projects and
precincts in Christchurch central. There are exciting times ahead!
What opportunities does that open up for young professionals who aspire to
leadership roles in Canterbury?
