CYP has a long standing relationship with the New Zealand Institute of Management Southern Inc (NZIM). We are pleased to present to you a combined speaker event with three leading figures in innovative business from Canterbury. Through their stories, we will hear about the importance of young professionals in today’s business environment and the benefits of generational collaboration.

Join us on Tuesday 28th May from 5.30pm – 7.00pm in the BNZ room at the EPIC Innovation Hub, corner of Manchester and Tuam Streets.

Speakers are:

Raf Manji - Director, Sustento Institute (www.sustento.org.nz )

The Sustento Institute is an independent, open source policy development organisation, whose purpose is to develop policy solutions that will lead to a more sustainable society. Prior to this initiative, Raf worked in the finance markets, and his broad experience enables him to move between different sectors. Raf is also the Executive Chair of the Volunteer Army Foundation, and in this role helps to guide and support young people involved in the organisation.

Jason Pemberton - General Manager, Student Volunteer Army (www.volunteerarmy.org)

The Student Volunteer Army has had a major role to play in Christchurch since the earthquakes, and has been a leader in trying new ways of doing things. Jason has built up wide-ranging experience in liaising with different community groups, business interests and other organisations through his work with the SVA, which has included travelling to Japan to set up a Japanese version of the SVA following their earthquake and tsunami in 2011.

Coralie Winn – Co-Founder and Creative Director, Gap Filler (www.gapfiller.org.nz)

Coralie comes from a background in the creative arts. Following the earthquake, she teamed up with others to create Gap Filler, an initiative which aims to bring life to Christchurch's vacant spaces. Gap Filler has been wildly successful, and has been an example of the innovative initiatives that have arisen since the earthquakes.since the earthquakes.
