CYP is proud to announce that this year we are bringing back an absolutely classic event - and for a great cause!

To celebrate the end of a simply stunning Canterbury summer, CYP is joining forces with the Lyttleton Tug Preservation Society to bring our members one unforgettable event this 3 March 2018 - The Annual CYP Boat Party!

Due to renovation works to the historic tug over the past two years, CYP was unable to host one of its most loved annual events. The last event in 2015 was a massive success, but the boat has been out of action for some much needed TLC. It's now back in the water, and while it is still yet to get it's official sea legs and leave the dock, the 2018 Boat Party is sure to be one you won't forget!

Festivities will kick off at the Carlton at 4 pm, with transport organised to take us out to the Lyttleton Port to board our vessel for the evening. Food and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided (please let us know any dietary requirements you have) and musical entertainment will carry us through the night. For those salty sailors who just can't get enough, you are more than welcome to party on at the Carlton, when our transport drops us off around 10 pm.

You are more than welcome to bring along your own food and grog supplies to last the journey (beer and wine only please), but when on the High Seas, it is important to look out for your fellow sailor, so no funny business will be tolerated. There is no plank on board, but metaphorically, you'd be walking it.

Dress up is heartily encouraged, and we can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. We are talking mermaids, pirates, sea monsters, coral bleaching, the Bermuda triangle... Who knows? All we know is that the Lyttleton Tug Preservation Society will pop by to hand out a few prizes to the best dressed members on board!

Preferential reservations can be made for members who donate $20 to the Lyttleton Tug Preservation Society through CYP via the link above. They're doing a great job, and need all the help they can get!

This donation isn't mandatory, and the event is free for members, but without a preferential reservation your spot on the bus and tug won't be secure - a bit of charity will get you priority.

We have strictly limited numbers, so you will want to secure your spot ASAP.

Hopefully, we can raise enough funds to make sure that next year, the engine is up to scratch and we can set sail around the Harbour!
