Canterbury Young Professionals Presents: The Breakfast Club – The Road to Governance
'The Breakfast Club' is CYP's new series of breakfast events kicking off with Part 1 - 'The Road to Governance', a governance focused event introducing our members to the world of governance and the process for transitioning and building experience in board member roles. The Road to Governance presents two speakers:
- New Zealand Institute of Directors Canterbury Branch Chair Janice Fredric to introduce the Institute and tell you what it offers to directors and those aspiring to directorships; and
- Professional engineer and Beca Group and City Care director Craig Price to share his experiences in transitioning from a professional into a governance role.
CYP will also reveal details of its upcoming 'Young Professional to Board Member' programme, a board member vacancy programme to be offered exclusively to members to enable you to start building your governance experience.
When: 7:00am sharp (with a finish time of 8am) on Wednesday 14 May 2014
Where: Bean Scene Café, 359 Lincoln Rd, Addington
Who: Free for members & non-members
Breakfast: While the event itself is free the breakfast is extra. Fear not though as Bean Scene have two options at a favourable rate. These is: either a cooked breakfast (eggs benedict, including vegetarian and dietary requirement options) or a continental breakfast (fresh muesli and fresh fruit).

This is also a good opportunity to those of you who are keen to come along but are not members (or if your membership has lapsed) to sign up. The membership price is only $30 and this is for a full year. Signing up is a quick process and can be done on our membership page.
